A Christmas Post-Mortem

It was wonderful to be with my family for Christmas. The kids had so much fun and it was really fun with James this year. He knew about the presents and he was excited. He ran around and ate lots of junk and basically got whatever he wanted for two days straight. Unfortunately, when we got to my granddaddy's house for Christmas Eve Mark realized that apparently one of our children had dipped our digital camera into some kind of liquid that made all the buttons stick. So, no pics. But, Santa came and everyone was happy.

I had planned on spending the past couple of days cleaning and organizing and giving old toys away to make room for the new ones. And organizing my planner for the new year and putting together a curriculum on Ancient Egypt and finishing my Dave Ramsey book and putting together a budget to start the new year with. And finishing all those questions for our adoption homestudy and organize my bill system so I could pay every bill effortfortlessy and always a week ahead of time. And redoing the kids chore charts and begin doing the exercise machine again. And taking the Christmas tree down, but now before I organized the closet that all the decorations go into so next year would not be like this year in that I had to take everything out to find the Christmas tree stand which we did not use anyway.

But, none of that has happened. I have spent the past three days laying around in my pjs, eating leftovers, and watching movies with the kids. I did get to the store yesterday and kept my nephew for awhile, but mostly I have walked around thinking of all that needs to be done and playing Scarlett and saying "I'll think about it tomorrow." Only I can't stop THINKING about not thinking about it! Tomorrow is another day, a Monday so maybe I can get up and get going. I will have to get up and go to the doctor for my adoption physical. My goal is to be completely done with all appointments and paperwork by the end of January. Oh, I hope so and then a little girl in February would be nice! We can only hope!

  3. I am right there with you friend! I HAVE to get more organized right away or I may hurt someone. I did get a lot done today though.
Sorry to hear about your camera. I hope that it will still work. I don't know if you read a while back, but our youngest daughter is adopted and we celebrated our 4th year of being finalized back in November. I know exactly what you're going through in preparation of that too. Email me if you have any questions at all. I'll be happy to help in any way. God bless you and your family for the journey ahead with adopting.
