After a week of lazing about, not cooking, not doing laundry, and pretty much just doing whatever we wanted (with the exception of weeding and hoeing the garden) Abbie and I have to face the real world this morning. My big boys are going to face it also, they just don't realize it yet. The real world of Casa Chaos and Laundry Overload.
When Mark and the boys left last Sunday they left with three big duffle bags. Somehow they returned with six bags worth of dirty laundry. Or so it seems. Add that to all the other laundry that didn't get done last week, and well, let's just say that the washer and dryer are going to be my close personal friends today.
Also, the blackberries have ripened and we are picking everyday now. The blueberries are turning also and should be really coming in this week. So, today will also involve freezing them and tomorrow I hope to make some blackberry jam. I would also love to make some blueberry syrup, but I am hesitant to start for fear I will mess it up and will have wasted those blueberries. I am going to have to think about it and study my Ball Blue Book of Preserving. By the way, if you are interested in any kind of food preservation that is the best book to start with.
Also, in the plans this week~bill-paying and school planning. My big kids are going to be doing a little bit each day to keep up with their math and language and I am going to start James in 5K. Some friends are having a yard sale Saturday to help them get to the mission field so I hope to be able to clean out some closets too. Oh, and Mrs. Jennifer, if you just happen to miss me so much and want to invite us over to swim, I'm sure I would say yes. Just a little hint to spur you on to love and good deeds.
Hope you all have a happy Monday!

I think laundry secretly reproduces when I'm not looking.
ReplyDeleteThe berry bushes here have barely lost there blooms! No fruit here until at least August.
ReplyDeleteI know how much you LOVE doing laundry ;} Have fun!!!
Oh my goodness. I am tired just reading all this.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you want to do all this to yourself? :)
Having seen the photos of boy scout camp - I'm thinking you should just have a bonfire for the boy's clothes...
