This morning Abbie and I braved the cold temps and rang bells for the Salvation Army. Her little Heritage Girl troop (sort of like Girl Scouts, but a Christian organization) rang the bells all day at the mall. We were only signed up for one hour though, thank goodness, because it was cold! But she had a blast and she got to talk with one of her friends the whole time. They just talked and giggled. Evidently when you are seven giggling is a must!
By the way, we went to Target right before we went to the mall. We had to get her some khaki pants so she would be in "uniform" for the bell-ringing. Anyway, we walked up to the khaki pants and she looked at me and said, "Mom, I'm just not really into khaki right now." Needless to say we got the khakis anyway.
Oh, and someone was not happy about having to wear a hat this morning.
He cheered up when he found out he was going to get to ride in Daddy's truck and go to Nana's house!
I bet it was cold!
ReplyDeleteI was having a nice, calm morning, until I realized at 12:08 PM that we had group violin lessons today! At 1 PM! (40 minutes away) Can you believe we made it?
Aww, I wish I could have seen Abbie ring the bell! Saw the boys this morning. They are the best! Little Doodlum was all smiles and sharing the love.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do with Abbie. You know, you just gave me the inspiration to try this with Jae this year. I'll be calling Target tomorrow to see what we need to do. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a great weekend!
It's great to get the kids involved in those kinds of things. It really teaches them a lot, despite the giggles!
ReplyDeleteI think you must have sent some of your weather our way - it's been freezing! We had hail yesterday and the heater has been going! Some of my poor seedlings got hit by the frost. Oh well,... that's how it goes!
Hope you're having a great weekend,
lv,
Joy
I just saw Abby's pic in the Sunday B'ham News. You'll have to let her know she's famous! Have a great week.
