Well, I had the intention of taking a blog break and focusing on our school, some kid issues, and organizing some things in the house. I had a neat little list of about 20 things and I have gotten to cross approximately one off that list since last Wednesday. Oh, Internet friends, I am sooooo good at the list-making. And at one time I was sooooo good at finishing those lists, but now I have four little sweeties who don't like my lists so much. James became sick Thursday and one by one they have all been dropping like flies. I have taken three to the doctor and of course they don't have strep or the flu, but a flu-like virus. Which means they have all the symptoms of the flu and step, but the doctor will give me nothing to make them feel better. And he will gladly take my $30 co-pay (for each child, mind you) to tell me that. So, I've been taking care of sick children. But, I am thankful I can do this. So thankful I get to be the one with them when they are sick. Even though it breaks my heart and I tell them 20 times a day I would take it and be sick for them if I could. And thankful for a husband who works hard so I can be home with them (and who also stops by the store and picks up a treat for me on the way home). And who brings the kids little treats to make them feel better. And finally, thankful beyond measure to a mom who came two days in a row and helped me clean the house and stayed with the other kids while I took some to the doctor. She is a mom-extraordinaire and Nana-magnificent.

I think everyone is on the mend, which means Mark and I will start feeling bad about 8:00 tonight.

I'll be back tomorrow with some new pics.

  1. WOOHOO!! Aunt mama Hen is back! We are so glad! We are not so glad everyone is sick, though. Join the club. We fight a constant battle against snot. Maybe I'll blog about it...

  7. Yeeccchh. Sorry about the virus thing. Dare we hope you and Mark will avoid it this time? Did the kids get the candy tongue tattoos (photos please) and did you get the rooster calendar?

  8. I'm soooo sorry. I swear they need to just have a placebo shot that they can give kids when they have viruses so that it would make all us Moms feel better and feel like we didn't just waste our money. Just the hope alone would be worth it.

    Welcome back!
