Two Busy Days

Well, we had the yard sale Saturday. After much concern (from me because I worry about everything, especially if I can't control it in ANY way), the weather turned out very nice. It was overcast and windy, which was wonderful, because it kept things cool and it only sprinkled a couple of times. It was never even enough to have to shut down and go on the porch though. After I got over my initial worriness (is that a word?) and was able to stop and take a breath it actually turned into a somewhat party atmosphere. We brought my big swing from around back and lots of extra chairs and just sat around and talked and watched the children. My mother-in-law had invited lots of her friends to come and they would stop and visit for awhile. My sister, mother, and daddy were there to help out and they were AWESOME. Jill spent the night with me Friday night to help me with last minute sign making and stuff and I would have been a basket case without her. My daddy was on James duty most of the morning and James loved it. After they left James was pretending he was PawPaw. They spent time "driving" Old Blue, my daddy's old truck, for a long time Saturday. Also, Jill got to be the designated diaper changer (it was her choice, really) and she learned a lot about little boys diapers. My mom just turned into yard sale top seller extraordinaire. She did the yard sale equivalent of wining and dining to the potential customers and people left with things they didn't even KNOW they needed when they came. Daddy, you are greatly under-using momma at the business. She could be your top saleswoman. All in all, it was a great day, and all total I made around $450 dollars. THANK YOU so much to all my friends and family friends who read this blog and who donated items. Mrs. Pat and Mrs. Rosemary, thank you! Cindy and Rachel, thank you! All my CBS friends, thank you! And to Daddy, Momma, and Jill, oh my goodness... thank you!

After we had loaded up all the unsold items and taken them to the Hannah Home drop off I came back home and was absolute jelly. James had not had a nap and he was absolute two year old tired. Mark fell asleep; he had not only helped with the sale, but had been tilling the garden also, in the recliner. The older kids were like zombies. Needless to say, after supper and showers, we all went to bed really early!

Baby Girl~we are a little bit closer and can't wait to meet you. At church yesterday I was thinking about you and began to fall in love a little bit more.

  2. First of all, YAY I'm glad it went so well!!! That's awesome!

And I can only IMAGINE how tired y'all were. We were pretty worn out Saturday from all of our festivities too, but at least they were indoors. Something about being outdoor AND working all day is body-killing.
