Summer Days

The past couple of days have been filled with summer goodness. Sleeping late, slow long days, spending the day with Nana, popsicles. And some of the not-so summer goodness~~~working in the garden. It is so stinkin hot, even at 7 pm, and I work in the garden and say, "Why do I do this?" "Why, why????" And I wonder all summer until about mid-July when the tomatoes come in. And I get to can and freeze my tomatoes and see them all laying in a row on the counter. And the grapes are ready and I make pints and pints of jelly that is sooooo good. And the corn is ready and we get to eat fresh sweet corn for supper. And fresh peas, and beans, and I make jar after jar of salsa. And I get to give it away to my friends and see their smile. And that is when it is worth it. Right now, not so much...

  3. Tom would love some fresh homemade salsa! He always wants me to make it, but I am too lazy!

  4. Our summer days are about to come to an end - the chickies and I leave Saturday after baseball for Grammy's house and return with only three days and a weekend left before school starts on July 7th.

I'm counting down the sleeping in days!

  5. Sounds like fun, even with the heat :)

Thanks so much for your support these last few weeks, it's been such a blessing, really. It's humbling to know that someone I've never met is praying for me and my family.

    Thanks Wendy.

  7. All those fresh veggies sound delicious! I think it's so cute when little boys want to "help" their dad fix things!
