Yummy yummy for your tummy!

I tried a new recipe a couple of weeks ago and it received 5 stars from everyone in the house. Do you know how rare that is? This one is wonderful and I got it from the Kraft Food and Family magazine. They call it "Frosty Orange Creme Layered Dessert", but I am going to call it Dreamsicle Delight because it tastes very very similar to Dreamsicles. Just don't call Kraft and tell them, okay?

Dreamsicle Delight

2 cups orange sherbet, softened
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping, thawed

Line a 9x5 loaf pan with foil. Spread sherbet onto bottom of pan to form an even layer. Freeze 10 minutes. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Gradually add condensed milk and juice, beating until blended. Gently stir in cool whip. Pour over sherbet in pan. Freeze 3 hours. To unmold, invert pan onto plate and remove foil.

(I decided that next time I make it I will put a layer of sherbet, a layer of cream cheese mixture, freeze, then another layer of sherbet and cream cheese mixture.) But, it was really good just the way the directions say, I would just like to have more sherbet throughout the dessert.

Also, when I made this I used all fat-free and low-fat ingredients and it was really good!

I'll surely be making this soon.

    Thanks!

PS Can't wait to trade jam!

  7. What an awesome summer dessert! That would really hit the spot. And in my humble opinion, anything with condensed milk in it has got to be good.
