I can't think of a title for the life of me

Yesterday was one of the busiest days of my mommy career. The details are boring, but it was busy. The past five days have been a whirlwind of stuff, that's the only word I can think of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My munchkins all dressed up for the Fall Festival. Matt just dressed up strangely and Tyler was a bounty hunter. I tried to convince him to be a nice good sweet bounty hunter, but he didn't buy it.
Totally unrelated to costumes, and just because I can't get enough of this child...
And finally, just to add to the craziness of yesterday...
Exactly 10 minutes before we had to leave the house AGAIN yesterday, Abbie comes to me with this.
Yes, it looks bad in the picture, but it was REALLLLLLLLY bad in real life. I could not get it out and had to wrap up all her hair (and the comb) in a bandanna because we had to leave for Heritage Girls. I was in charge of the service project so I had to be there or else we would have scrapped the whole thing. She lost the bandanna approximately 3 minutes after we got to the church so all the girls and all the moms got to see it. One of the moms came to the rescue got it out for her. She had to cut the bristles off the comb and then work all that hair out. Just a tip if you ever need it because I never would have thought of that. I thought we would be going to get a haircut this morning.
Well, I'm off to do my mommy thang and as Jayme says, "Apron Up!"
  1. I LOOOVE the "strange" outfit...he reminds me of a crazy scientist...that happens to be a southern man (hence the hunting attire). Maybe a brilliant taxidermist?
    And ouch. I feel Abbie's pain. When I was about her age, my hair got stuck in a hot tub drain - UNDERWATER. I was kicking trying to get up and all my friends thought I was being silly. I finally ripped my hair out right before I drowned (I was dramatic I'm sure), and I had THE BIGGEST HAIR KNOT on the face of the planet.
  2. That is hysterical that you wrapped the comb and all up and out it came when you get to the meeting that you're in charge of. Something I would never have thought to do!
    Love the pictures of your kids! Love the big glasses!
  3. I love your kids' creativity!
    Oh my goodness that hair thing looked scary! I'm glad you were able to get it out without losing a bunch of hair.
  4. Thanks for the tip with the bristles, would have never in a million years thought of that. I'll remember it for next time when my girls get their hair tangled, and believe me, they will...
  5. I did not know about the hair episode. I am speechless. I am so sorry and so laughing all at the same time!
  6. That is exactly why we do not have combs in our house! Seriously, not a single one. Poor Abby. Isn't it nice to have Mommy friends? They always have such great ideas. It's nice when Mommy's share!
  7. Mama Hen,
    I'm so glad to hear that one of the other moms cut the bristles off the comb to rescue your sweet daughter's hair! I wish I would have thought of that as she was rather bored of me patiently trying to unwrap those hairs for her. I forget what she said. She was very polite at first, of course, but then said something about her legs being very tired from standing! ;)
  8. How cute! Love the costumes. The comb story is funny even though I know at the time it probably did not seem very funny! LOL
  9. So glad Abbie didn't have to cut off her beautiful hair! My mom wouldn't let use combs, b/c she was too afraid what happened to Abbie would happen to us :)
