Is anyone out there?

I survived! The theme of Abbie's AHG summer camp was Survivor and I did! (And no, we didn't vote anyone out). It was hot beyond belief, but by Wednesday I think I had learned to accept it and manage it a little better. Tuesday night I called Mark and offered him some bribes to come get me, but he declined. I don't think he was excited about driving 10 hours in the middle of the night and then going to work the next day.

Abbie had the best time and I had so much fun watching her. It is neat to get to watch your children outside of your normal routine. She was in her element. Girl chatter, girl giggles, girl squeals, girl games...she loved it.

I was so glad to get home to my people though. I was even glad to see Sylvester the cat and that is saying a lot. But I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. It's like I've forgotten what I'm supposed to do all day. Its Wednesday and I still haven't completely unpacked my suitcase. I just look at the piles of clothes, clutter, dishes, you name it and think, Well, somebody should do something about that." I'm pretty sure that somebody is me but my body and brain just won't engage. Do you think the heat zapped my decision-making skills?

Mark got our internet connection up and running last night so I was able to read your new posts. Ya'll make me laugh and smile so much!

Maybe today will be the day I can get it together and think of something interesting to write about. I know I have a giveaway coming up, but other than that I am at a loss. Do any of you have any suggestions? If any of you can explain what has happened to my get-up-and-go please leave a comment. And if any of you can figure out a way to send me some energy over the DSL line please do so.

  1. You can't get anything done because your processor (brain) is too busy telling you 'do this next' that you don't get anything done. Just get one thing done and off the list and maybe you can get going again. Sometimes too much multitasking will turn into no-tasking when you're overloaded. Glad to hear you had fun at Camp!

  2. Glad you survived and Abbie had a great time!
It's always tough for me to get back in the swing of things after a vacation or even a couple of days away!

  3. Get up and go can be purchased in a 12 oz. green can.

However, I just officially switched today to the more healthy Diet Dr. Pepper. You didn't know that, did you!? :0)

    I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. . . . . . .

  5. Just pretend you're having a baby next week and get to doing all that "nesting" stuff!

Don't be too hard on yourself - ease back into it...the days of "routine" are right around the corner!
