Cold 2011

Okay, we are settled in for the ice and snow. It is sleeting outside as I write. The kids are so excited. Mark and I are not. Abbie said all the little girls in her class asked during prayer request time for it to snow all night so they wouldn't have to go to school tomorrow. Poor little homeschooled Abbie. She has to pray it won't snow so she can go somewhere. Cause she is all about the going.

If you don't hear from me for the next couple of days think about poor ole Southern gal MamaHen. I don't like this one bit. I told someone one time I put up with the heat of Alabama so I don't have to put up with the cold. Oh well.

  1. Hee hee, poor Abbie, Elizabeth is like that too, likes to go out as much as she can.
Hope you are feeling better after your traumatic week of docs and Christmas lights!

  2. Well, it looks like a Winter Wonderland here! I told the kids tomorrow we could sing Christmas songs and pretend it was Christmas so I could actually spend a "White Christmas" with them instead of spending it sick in the bed. ;0) Unfortunately, I think they took me seriously, LOL!

I've got muffins baked and chilli in the crockpot in case we lose power. Hope this all melts before Tuesday! :-)

  3. We had over 7 inches of snow during the night and it is still snowing a little right now. What is happening to AL? No school for the girls today and my guess would be none tomorrow as well...

  4. I don't like it one bit either.
I am surprised we still have power--on Mon morning--but am thinking it's just a matter of time.

  5. Hope you don't lose power. Don't let my parents leave the apartment. We got snow, no ice, and are expecting another foot tomorrow night. woohoo.

  6. "Snow days" are definitely one of the very few bummers to homeschooling! I personally, LOVED me a snow day when my kiddos were enrolled in school and I was on staff there. Now, ice is a totally different thing. No thank you.

We have snow in our forecast but the accumulation amounts continue to dwindle as each hour goes by - I am perfectly fine with a dusting. My kind of snow:)

Was reading through some older posts - TOO FUNNY that your drawers made it to the Walmart counter. Love it. Oh, and I totally put on two different earrings this morning. What is up with that?? Ha - you always make me smile.

Hope you are not housebound for long. Happy Monday, friend.

  10. I feel Abbie's pain. I distinctly remember doing school during snow storms. In fact, I remember one snow storm my cousin was staying with us (I guess his Mom had to work), and my Mom even made HIM do school!!! Lucky guy.
