A breakfast winner...

Okay, do any of you ever *think* you read something, or heard something, but you can't recall exactly where you read or heard it? Or do you ever *think* you have written a thank you note to someone, but then you can't remember if you really did or just wrote it out in your head? Or a blog post even?

Someone please tell me I am not the only one.

A couple of days I came across a breakfast recipe on a blog. I thought I knew which blog and the recipe was so simple I didn't even have to write it down. And now I can't remember the blog. Imagine that. I thought I remembered it, and have even been thinking about linking to that exact recipe (with pictures even), but when I went to that site...no recipe.

Did I dream all this? Am I a creative cook in my sleep?

Anyhoos...I made this for our breakfast this morning and I got five stars from all four kids. Unbelievable!

Just mix up some pancake batter and while you are doing that bake some sausage patties in the oven. I like to do bacon and sausage in the oven cause it cuts down on cleanup.

Pour a thin layer of pancake batter on your griddle. After it has cooked a little while and started to thicken, put a piece of sausage on top. Then cover the sausage with more batter. Cook your pancake as usual. Pancakes on a Stick without the Stick!

I have been up since 4:30 (having trouble staying asleep) and now I am sleepy. I think I might need a little catnap because we are going to the Barons Game tonight. And even better-my dad's company is buying us all supper! So no cooking or cleaning up for me! Don't worry though, there is always something to cook or clean up when I get home ;)

  1. That does sound like a winner. I've crumbled up sausage in the pancake batter, but your way sounds like much more fun:)

During the summer, you're supposed to nap during the heat of the day, didn't you know? It's the rule. So be obedient.

  2. I'm jealous of your catnap. That doesn't fly over real well when you're at work.

  3. You're the only one!!!! {ha ha} Reality, you're not the only one, my head is crammed full of info continually, keeping track of the source of each piece, not happenning in my world!!!

    Free supper!!!! Yippee!!!

  4. I can never remember where I saw some great idea. I wish I was better about that....I'd love to give credit to the genius that thought of it. My kids would hate that pancake idea because they all hate food touching other food. In that case....I may just make it for breakfast tomorrow...because I'm that kind of mom. :) Lisa~
