{pretty, funny, happy, real}

round button chicken

Happy
Blackberry Jam made this week. Oh my, it is delicious if I do say so myself. Thank you Hubby for planting blackberries for me!

Blueberry-Banana Smoothies. Yumm..

Funny (and real too)
Little boys who decide to throw a fit on the beach because they can't get their way and then quickly learn that sand in the mouth is lots worse than not getting your way.

RealMatthew, who is sick with some kind of throat/viral thing. I asked him if I could get him a pillow and he replied no. Matt is um, um, ...different... that way.

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. A certain child made a grilled cheese sandwich and then put the very hot cast iron skillet in the sink right on top of some plastic cups and bowls. Which then quickly melted and fused to the skillet. Yep, you just never know what you will come across here at Clark Acres.

I hope you will go check out everyone else's {pretty, happy, funny, real} posts today. They will make you smile.

Also, if you don't mind will you go to the top-left corner and vote for our new dairy goat's name. Sweet Hubby already has his goat's name picked out, and I think I know what I want to name mine, but I would love to know what you think!

  1. Yum, blackberry jam :) Looks like you've had lots of learning moments this week! The good thing is that those are mistakes usually only made once. ;-)

  3. Blackberry jam! Yum! Mine are still about a month away from being ripe, and I am all out of jam. Loved the cast iron picture! Looks like something that would happen at my house!

  4. We never did believe that the goat thing was a hypothetical situation. Just think of all the great blog fodder they will provide! Can't wait! What kind will they be?

  6. Your pan reminds me of the time I was "sterilizing" our toothbrushes in boiling water, forgot all about them and the water boiled off and the brushes melted to the bottom of the pan:)

  7. I'm curious to see if I can predict what you are planning to name the goat. ;)

  8. Your jam looks very yummy! I think I need some blackberry bushes myself, but I'll have to content myself with the muscadines this year, I suppose!

And the cast iron skillet melted to the plstics--oh, I could see that happening here, too! Too funny!

  9. Love the photos, especially the boys on the beach! And the skillet in the sink - glad stuff like that doesn't happen just at my house. As for the poll, being a Beatrice goat owner myself, you can guess which I voted for. :)

  10. Well, it is your fault, Mama Hen! I just had to buy some blackberries at Sam's Club yesterday after you made my mouth water for your blackberry jam!

But I don't think these blackberries are going to be very good. The top layer they felt nice and plump for the most part, but as I worked down they started feeling hard. I'm going to have to put some thought into where we could put in some blackberries along the woods--away from the poison oak, poison ivy and poison sumac, of course!
