Friday This and That...

Well, I know you were all on the edge of your seats wondering if I got anything done yesterday.

I did, a little.

I did some Heritage Girl work, made corn dogs for lunch, took the kids to violen lessons, guitar lessons, and to the library. I came home, sat and stared for a little while, and then went to the grocery store. Came home and put the Stouffers in the oven and sat and stared until Mark came home. Pretty much it. The Stouffers was delicious though :).

Today I am peeling apples to make applesauce and apple pie filling. It looks like there are more tomatoes out there too. Mrs. Jennifer doesn't know it, but I will be calling her in a little while to see if we can come swim this afternoon. The kiddos won't stop begging and pestering me about it. Don't they know I can't sit and stare at the pool? I have to count heads and fix all the problems of the world with Mrs. Jennifer.

Tomorrow Mark and I will be married 17 years. This time 17 years ago I was just waking up from my bridesmaid's spend the night party. Yep, I was so young we actually had a spend the night party. We ate lasagna and watched the movie about Ike and Tina Turner (can't remember the name right now), which is NOT the best show to watch when you are getting married in 24 hours. Anyway, it didn't detour me and I spent the day getting my nails and toes done and getting ready for my rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I remember fussing with my mom over what I was going to wear for the rehearsal dinner. Yep, I was so young and dumb I fussed with my mom over what I was going to wear. Did ya'll know my mother is a saint? Truly, a walking around living breathing saint?

****If you want to know more about the Sit and Stare Club, go visit Lynn at A Mother's Journal. She's hilarious and super-creative.

So, what's on your Friday agenda?

  5. Ummm, why don't I remember this spend-the-night party? And I don't recall getting my nails and toes done either. Apparently, the maid of honor got jipped!

  6. Jill, remember the bridesmaids came and spent the night at our house. And Kremsa's mom made lasanga for us. Alison did Mary Kay facials.

And the lady who lived across the street gave me the pedi for a wedding present. She had done nails a long time ago and she still had the stuff.

  7. That's okay Jill, I'm not too clear on the spend the night party either. I do remember that they all stayed with us after the wedding. I couldn't understand why Pat Comans was so helpful at the church and then he showed up at the house. Apparently he had heard about all those Montevallo girls being at our house. I loved having kids at my house. I miss it.
