Friday This & That...

Well, it appears I have a become a Friday only blogger.  It seems Friday is the only day I can get my thoughts together to write anything.  The rest of my week is spent running to and fro and cleaning to and fro and schooling the kiddos, and overall it is good.  Although I would love a few minutes to sit in my swing and enjoy this pretty weather, minus the time I sitting with the dog for our training.

~The dog is huge now and takes up most of the swing which means he has to lay on me and if he is laying on me he wants to lick me and I CAN NOT STAND for the dog to lick me.  So, we are working on that.  He is huge, but very much a puppy still, so we are working on sitting still and being content to lay on me without licking me.  Sort of like blanket training with toddlers, but with a huge dog instead.

~I would love to post some pictures of my children, but we still can't find the camera battery charger so Mark has declared we need to buy a new one before the Disney trip.   But I know that just as soon as I buy a new one the old one will pop up.  Uggggg.......

~The camping trip was fun!  Really!  I did not cry or throw a fit once which was good considering I needed to be a good example for the girls.  I even pitched my tent all by myself and cooked on a camp stove.  Sunday afternoon I came home and slept for three hours and then wondered around the house in a daze for the rest of the afternoon, but it was said to be a success by the girls and moms so I am glad.  And I am off camping duty until the spring campout rolls around :).

~Clark Acres Update:  Beatrice is still not great with goat even though Buddy and Beatrice are officially married now and live together.  We spent months just trying to keep them away from each other and Beatrice couldn't control herself around Buddy and now that they are together she wants nothing to do with him.  Uggggg....

The garden is done except for the okra.  We would have peas, but some animal came and ate all the tops off our winter peas so nothing, nada.  Very disappointing.  I wonder if we are going to have to start fencing the garden.  Or get a guard dog.  Oh wait, we have one of those.  And he is huge and should scare off anything that comes on the property. Oh yeah, he thinks every animal is his best friend and just watches them as they eat our peas.  Hopefully he will become a much better guard dog as he gets older.

I am going to try to be a Monday blogger this coming Monday and have a little giveaway.  Hope you'll stick with me and come back...

  2. Alice, we are leaving mid-Nov. My parents gifted my family, my brother, and my sister and her husband a family trip to DisneyWorld. Our whole family is going together.

  6. What kind of dog do y'all have? We are looking to get a guard/herding dog when we make the move to Ashville, and we are currently researching breeds.
