Dress Up!

I have to admit I was not very excited about taking the kids to the Fall Festival tonight. I had been cleaning all day. The good news is I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I have cleaned out 3 closets and we have 8 bags to take to the thrift store. That feels good. I have gotten some deep cleaning done, like baseboards, walls, cabinets, and blinds. But it's Friday night and I am tired. It's also the end of the month which means Mark has to work very late. So, I would have four by myself at the festival. And lots of sugar would be involved. And a tired toddler.

But it really went well. The three oldest were so good and James was in his element. He quickly learned to hold out his little bag and smile whenever a camera was present. There were balloons so he was happy. There were games to play and a hay ride. And lots of candy.

I got to see an old friend from college. Hey Cindy! She has the most beautiful little boy.

But the best part of all was getting to see James taste cotton candy for the first time. He didn't know what to do with it to start with. I tasted some and then he did. His face lit up and then he had the biggest smile. I hope I don't ever forget it.

The kids had fun dressing up.
