What a fun and busy past four days! Lots of family, food, and fun. It was good and now it's time to think about Christmas. Wow. I love Christmas time with my family. Love it, love it, love it.
But, before I can think about Christmas I need to get some information from you. I read in today's paper that Martha Stewart says you should clean your lampshades every TWO WEEKS. She "suggests" that you clean them with a mild soap and water. My lampshades get a dusting with the dust rag, well... it's not every two weeks, that's for sure. I know I am not a great housekeeper, but really, do people do this? Is this some homemaker rule that I missed? Please leave a comment and let me know, do you clean your lampshades and how often? Do you just buy a new one when the light won't shine through your old one anymore? I need to know~company is coming for Christmas!!!!
Aunt Jill, here's CutiePie with the sweater you gave him.
Oh, my. . .hmmmm. . .let's see. When the dust is so bad, I notice it and think, "Wow, I need to dust that." Kind of like with my ceiling fans. . . .
ReplyDeleteBut! For the first time ever, I had a new ceiling fan cleaner last week! I bought one of those swiffer dusters and gave it to Bigger Brother. He dusted everything in sight! Boys and gadgets! ;0)
Oh my heavens - NOBODY I know dusts their lampshades every 2 weeks. I'm not sure that I've ever dusted a lampshade. Little doodlum looks precious in that sweater!
ReplyDeleteMine gets dusted when company is coming. Now everyone knows that your Mama is not a good housekeeper. James looks precious. I can't wait until they sing Wednesday at bible study.
ReplyDeleteACK, people clean their lampshades? My hubby dusts them when we have company coming. I don't dust.
ReplyDeleteOh... before I forget ... YOU WON the $25 Publix gift card from my blog. Email me at momma@3princessesmomma.com with your mailing info and I will get that out to you asap.
First of all, Martha Stewart does NOT clean her own lampshades, I'm sure! She may have her "people" wash them every two weeks or whatever. But, who has "people" to do this, not me?! I'm sure that cleaning lampshades for company is just fine...Or, now that I think of it, I don't even have a lampshade to dust. Lucky me!
ReplyDeleteokay, what? I'm with R.,...only when I notice it...exactly like the fans.
ReplyDeleteAnd $25 gift card?! what is going on here? I want in.
Never! I vaccum them when they get fuzzy. For the others? My mom used to wash them in the spring and fall. Yikes!
