Friday Ramblings

It's Friday afternoon and I am taking a break just so I can sit down. We have been gone a lot this week and the house was looking like it. We had school this morning and since then I have been cleaning and cleaning and cleaning some more. So far I have cleaned out the fridge, done two loads of dishes, emptied three hampers of clean clothes and sorted them out so the kids could put them away, dusted, cleaned the back porch, cleaned the kid's bathroom, and moved Pearl from the garage to the yard (this sounds easy doesn't it? HA, HA, HA!). After James gets up I will vacuum, cook supper, and then after Mark gets home I will go to the store to buy lunch stuff for 40 little Cub Scouts coming here for lunch tomorrow. And then mop. And then collapse.

Right before Christmas I won a diaper bag for New Baby Girl from a blog giveaway. I received it awhile ago and wanted to show you. It is sooooo cute.

It is from Glam Baby Designs. Go check it out. http://www.glambaby.etsy.com/.

Then, two weeks ago I won another bag from some giveaway and I really can't remember who it was, but anyway, I received it today. Too cute and filled with all kinds of goodies, 2 burp clothes, 3 washclothes, organic soap, 2 baby hats, and she sent an extra little headband for Abbie.

It is from Sew Vermont Kids at http://www.sewvermont.com/. I was amazed at how reasonable their prices were.

In other news, we will be getting new chicks this spring. Our girls have hit the Big M and no longer give us eggs on a regular basis. So basically, we are feeding them for nothing. We aren't sure what we will do with the old ones, but new ones are coming. So we've had chicken catalogs laying around. James and Abbie were looking through one this morning. I stopped and took a picture because James looked so serious about it all.

  1. Too funny!

My Mom just started the chicken game last year (you've probably seen them in some of my posts, as Ali is quite fond of them). I didn't know that they hit menopause! That is HILARIOUS. Mom wants to get a cow too, but Dad won't let her until she proves that she can have one of her beloved chickens as dinner first. She said she wouldn't name the cow and therefore could send it to the butcher, but as all of her CHICKENS have names, I have my doubts as to whether she could really have a nameless cow.

And as far as the HS group, I can't think of anyone I know in Agape. I graduated from Heritage, and shortly before that, my parents helped start SMICA (Shades Mountain Independent Church Academy) through our Church, and I think they're still on the board. We do a lot with SMICA, and it is who I will homeschool through in a few years. . .
