I got the recipe from Tammy's Recipes and tripled it (actually I tweaked it because I had extra broth, but it was close to tripling it). I now have the equivalent of 10 cans of cream of chicken soup in the freezer. I know it was cheaper than buying the cans and it has no preservatives in it. I am hoping I can make more sometime this week and also make some cream of mushroom soup.
This week should be considerably slower than last week. Yeah! I like being at home. I love knowing I have the whole day at home and there is no rush to get this and that done before we have to leave. And there is a lot of this and that to do in my house today. As usual. A lot of people live here and it shows. We'll get to it though. Speaking of a lot of people, I read in a magazine that the average woman does 5-1/2 loads of laundry a week. Does that sound right to you? Because I could do 5 easily just today!
i definetly could do 5 in one day, i have a mountain, better yet, a mountain range in my laundry room, calling to me.
ReplyDeleteWow, on the chicken soup! Oh, you've inspired me to try it now.
ReplyDeleteAnd who ever does 5 1/2 loads week either only had one child, or they are really keeping up their laundry...lol!
Blessings, Fine Linen
I probably do about 3 loads a day. Today way more because we were away and our kids were away and I refuse to do laundry on a Sunday. My father, the preacher, would never approve of my mother doing laundry on a Sunday and I can hear his voice all the way from heaven when I even suggested doing it yesterday. Love the soup idea!!! Here's a question for you, what do you use it for???? Recipes would be nice!
ReplyDeletewow - so domestic!!! :) I changed my blog address so the link on your page doesn't work anymore!! sorry for messing it up:)
ReplyDeleteOh my word - how did we come from the same womb??? I am so jealous of your cooking abilities!
ReplyDeleteWalking on Sunshine-I plan to use it just like you would regular canned cream soup-in casseroles, etc...I'll let you know if it works.
ReplyDeleteJeanette-thanks for telling me. I'll get it fixed. :)
Impressive!!! Although my problem with freezing things is that I never thaw them and USE them. Oops.
ReplyDeleteYa'll are gonna hate me. I do four loads a week. But it's only the two of us here......Glen wears a work uniform that they wash.
ReplyDeleteThe soup looks good! I ABHOR canned soups. Wont' allow them in the house.
You are SO Martha. :-)
Hopefully this week will be slower and a good one for all of you....and I guess I shouldn't tell you that I do (maybe) five loads of laundry a week - if I include the towels! An empty nest perk, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI wash 2-3 loads a day (large capacity machine) every day--and I'm not using cloth diapers right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to check those soup recipes. I've made a cream of "fill-in-the-blank" soup recipe before but I cannot recall now where I have that recipe.
5 1/2 loads of laundry a week must be for a single woman! I only have 2 kids and I think I do a couple of loads a day!
ReplyDeleteI have got to try that chicken recipe! I went to buy chicken stock cubes today and they all have msg in them... which is banned in Australia... so I refused to buy them. I guess I'll be making my own stock.. and soups :)
