Later in the afternoon I saw Tyler up there reading a book and I have to say, "It did this mama's heart good."
As I was bringing some laundry in (and by the way I did do five loads today, although one was a repeat. I accidentally put some clean clothes back into the washer and they were all wet before I realized it-sometimes I wonder about myself), I found James in Sylvester's basket. They have become big buddies and when I hear James talking to "Vester" I about can't stand it. They just sit and James talks and talks to him.
I know he is barefoot in November, but it is still pretty warm down here. And yes, I did give him a bath. Look at those feet!
I knew I was going to be taking the boys to Scouts tonight and I decided I would get all dressed up and be as cutesy as a stay-at-home with four kids all day mom can be for my sweet hubby. I had on my non-Mom jeans (shout out to Rachel) and a cute little top. I had a black jacket to wear over it. I left my hair down (I usually wear it up in a mom-twist) and took time with my makeup.
After we dropped the boys off I took Abbie and James to get hot chocolate. Abbie was supposed to have a Heritage Girl meeting to night, but it was cancelled so we decided to have a girl's night and poor old James was just going to have to tag along. As I'm driving down the road I realize I have still have on my knock-off croc flip-flops. I had forgotten to change shoes! I asked Abbie if she thought it would be okay if I went in the store in my flip-flops. Her response was, and I quote, "No will notice you anyway." Thank you dear.
So, we go in and I order the hot chocolates. As I am standing there waiting I look down and notice a white sticker on my jacket. I tried to peel it off and lo and behold it was the tag. I had the jacket on inside-out. So much for being all cutesy.
Hello, I am MamaHen and evidently I need help dressing each day.
my new run through before we leave the house includes deciding if the stains on my shirt are too obvious or not to wear in public. i've been whining for comfy sweats that are cute enough to wear out (being pregnant, it's all about comfort these days!) and my sweet hubby went to the mall last week, with both girls in jammies, and bought me cute sweatpants and a cute hoodie! i caught myself a good man....
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny !! I am cracking up and my husband is looking at me funny.... That is so something I have done.
ReplyDeleteSome days are just like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, LOL! I have headed out the door before in my knock-off crocs and realized that I had them on and just decided to run to the library/grocery/post office anyway!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember whether I've ever worn anything inside out, but I have worn some nursing tops with the tag at the neck hanging out behind me just to make sure EVERYONE knows I'm wearing a nursing top with concealed openings somewhere in order to nurse my baby! I blame it on new mom sleep deprivation! ;)
I'm glad you had a good time tonight anyway! :)
Today I dried a load of clothes...but I never actually put the clothes in. When I went to get them out and they weren't there, I actually thought for a second that the drier had eaten them. Glad I'm not the only one...
ReplyDeleteLove the swing and that's too funny about your outfit. But you tried! I'm sure your hair and makeup were beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYour son is very inventive, looks like a comfy swing he came up with. And your clothes story, very funny. Been there and done that...
ReplyDeleteOh Wendy, I just don't know what to say. That makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteI once wore a shirt inside out to the mall - for HOURS. Walked through the whole entire place...thankfully I wasn't blogging then, so no one knows. Except the people that were with me. We're not friends anymore. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I always love when someone says, "Oh, I think you've got something right there" and the something is one of those rogue socks. You know the ones, they stick inside your tops and go unnoticed until half-way through the day when the pop out at the waist or back and wave to the people around you. Ugh, I hate those guys!!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh!
ReplyDelete1. Love the swing - looks quite comfy! I have one of those chairs that is a lounge chair - you think he could hook it up for me and make it a bed swing?
2. I laughed at Abbie's comment. Kids sure know how to make us feel good, don't they?
3. I am currently mad at you. You made taking James to the dentist sound all easy breezy and casual a few months ago. I did it today. It was NOT. Thanks a LOT for the false sense of security.
What a funny story! LOL Thanks for sharing :) We have have moments right? :)
ReplyDeleteThe chair swing is pretty genius, sounds like you might have an engineer on your hands!
ReplyDeleteI think the dressing issue applies to most moms, half the time I'm out in public I look down and I have some food or spit up stain on my clothes.
