Monday Morning

We had a wonderful time with Mark being home all last week. He spent lots of time with the kiddos. They finished the treehouse, hunted, he took them on a library run and I got to stay home and read. He took them to buy my birthday present and I got to stay home by myself. Friday was my birthday and he cooked a big breakfast and I got to take a nap. It sounds like I had the vacation, doesn't it? It was great and now we are back to the real world. But, the real world is pretty good if you ask me. Except that I MUST clean out my fridge today. MUST. Oh, internet friends, my heart is heavy with the task before me. But, I will do it. I will.

I am going to take this week and finish up our school year, hopefully do some serious housecleaning to prepare for Christmas Day at our house, and all the while fix meals, do laundry, and kiss boo-boos. The week before Christmas James has said he wants to wear big boy underwear and tee-tee in the potty. I actually told him, "No way, not until after Christmas." I'm sure by then he will not be interested anymore. We'll see.

My oldest and youngest chicks snuggled up together.
Hopefully, Pappa Rooster is going to finish up Part 2 of the Christmas Tree tale this week also.

  2. We did Thanksgiving at our house and I loved it. I have to admit that I am thrilled we will drive to several different homes on Christmas and come back to our 'quiet' one! Good Luck:)

  8. You have such a sweet life there with your kids and Pappa Rooster. You both seem like such wonderful parents. That is so wonderful!

I haven't made the PW cinnamon rolls yet. I usually use a recipe that I have that tastes like Cinnabon. I'm just now starting to hurt being sugar-free, so I can't even THINK about that right now!

  9. Next time insert a commercial when there's a break in a story.

Oh, and what's up with Mrs. Jennifer ending her blog?

  10. Jennifer-the kids took care of the yogurt rather quickly. It has been on my "list" to get you some more, but well, you know how my "list" goes.

    Jill-a few post down

Mollie-I don't know why she has chosen to do this to the family. Sigh.

  11. I LOVE those photos of brothers together. I also have two boys which happen to be about 9 years apart. I know my own boys are quite bonded, and I can tell from this that yours are too. Thanks so much for sharing that photo!
