Thursday Giveaway
I realized as I was taking the picture for this giveaway last night you all are going to think I have gone Amish/Mennonite. Now...sometimes I wish I was. But when it is 95 in July I am so happy I am a Presbyterian. I love me some air conditioning.
A couple of years ago I came across this magazine, "Keepers At Home" which is produced by a group of Mennonite women. I was so excited when I received it in the mail because it encouraged me in my role as wife and homemaker. And mom and teacher, and candlestick maker.
I have shared these with some of my friends and they have been returned and have been sitting on my shelf encouraging no one. I do take them to my swing occasionally and re-read them, but not enough to warrant not sharing them. So....
I am giving away six copies of "Keepers At Home" to two winners. Each winner will receive three magazines. They have been read and passed around so they are not in new condition, but I really think you will enjoy them. And then maybe you can share them with others also.
Just leave me a comment telling me you want to enter! Giveaway ends February 6 and Abbie will draw two names out of the old hat.

I would love to win one of these magazines! I just finished reading a great old novel by Wilkie Collins (a friend of Dickens) called "A Woman in White". It was very good. I ordered it off of ebay and it came in a two-volume set which also included his very famous, "The Moonstone" which is probably one of the finest Victorian detective novels ever written.
ReplyDeleteDo we need to leave a comment after each giveaway post - for that particular giveaway....of does my comment enter me for each one?? Cause I am way behind on commenting.
ReplyDeleteDid that make sense??
I do follow your blog- I used to receive "An Encouraging Word" peridical; which I donated to our church library. I would enjoy this publication also, and if might find itself parked in the church library afterwards!
ReplyDeleteI'm only ready my Bible recently. I've been knitting and sewing in my spare time.
ReplyDeleteI would love them !!! I also admire the Amish/Mennonite people and their simplistic, hard working ways. ( but happy I'm a presbyterian ( REFORMED) too ! Maybe I'll win !!!!

ReplyDeleteAnd I do enjoy reading your blog Wendy. I just don't always comment.
OK, so I just signed up to follow you! So does that mean you are going to pick me!??? But just so you know, your blog is all ready listed in my Google reader. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Wendy! I'm commenting to win a magazine! Next time we go "home" to Ohio, I'll stick you in my suitcase and take you to Amish country in Holmes County...
ReplyDeleteI don't need to be entered...(I get them already), but just wanted to say, "what a neat giveaway!". I'm sure the winner will be blessed.
ReplyDeleteI already follow you, so please enter me for a chance to win. :)
ReplyDeleteOops! The "anonymous" commenter was me. I must have clicked on the wrong thing. :) That's ok, though, because I want to enter twice. My younger daughter and I are reading the Rose Wilder books (that come after the LHOP books), and we are loving them!! We haven't actually read the LHOP books together yet, but we will go back and read them together once we finish the Rose series. (Yep. We're backwards. We do things differently at our house!)
ReplyDeleteplease enter me..i think i would enjoy reading these!

ReplyDeleteI'm reading a few really good things, but these are the top 3: God Knows My Name by Beth Redman, Decision Points by George W. Bush and Bridge of Peace by Cindy Woodsmall. I just finished Seek ME With All Your Heart by Beth Wiseman, and it was awesome. :) (I'm a big Amish fiction/nonfiction fan)
