The Homeschool Mother's Journal

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week...

Wow, what a busy week! Just trust me, it was long, but it was good. I am glad it is Friday though and this weekend will be pretty low-key. I am on the lookout for more chickens so tomorrow might bring some new chickies into our coop.

In our homeschool...

Lots of bookwork. We did start the last two chapters of our Apologia Anatomy. Tyler, my oldest, has a science test today. He is working through Apologia's Physical Science. Tough stuff, but he is going slow and steady and doing well. Abbie is working on her SAT practice book. Matt is getting the hang of long division and it is coming much more naturally to him now. James (age four) is just hanging out and doing lots of playing. He does like to listen to our Anatomy readings sometimes. He is really interested in how the body works.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...

Next week is Abbie's SAT testing. Which means a lot of driving. Which means the boys will be doing a lot of bookwork in the van. But, our school group requires it in 4th, 6th, and 8th grade so off we will go. Hopefully one day after the SATs we will be able to go and visit with Rebekah a little.

My favorite thing this week...
Sitting at Community Bible Study yesterday and laughing with our group. Some husband stuff came up and it turned pretty funny pretty quickly. (in a very respectful way, of course :) )

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have....

How did it get to be April so quickly????

A link to share....

Good news for Rebekah and her family!!!!!!

  4. We would LOVE to see you all get some new chickies!
I would like to say Schyler is interested in how the body works, but she is mostly interestd in the, ahem, potty aspects of it. It's a start.

  7. I wouldn't mind doing SAT's in 4th, 6th, and 8th grades. We did the CAT5 in various grades.

My girls might go into nursing. What are you using for Anatomy?

  8. You know, we skipped signing up for testing this year. Just had too much going on, I forgot to even look at the dates. Have fun with your testing this week, and I'll meet you half-way for farm fresh eggs sometime, if you'd like!

  10. Hi there - I hopped over from the homeschool chick journal page. My daughter is in the midst of the long division process too. We took a break to refresh on fractions etc for her Stanford test coming up in May.
