Random Seven Quick Takes...

I decided to steal (with permission, of course) this idea from Fear Not Little Flock.
Thanks so much for this great idea!

As a mom, how many times a day do we second guess what we have just done? For me, its a lot. Fortunately though, I got to learn from Super-Mom, my mom, Nedra. If you could look up mom in the dictionary you would get her. Although there are no perfect moms out there, she is close, and I am blessed beyond measure to be her daughter.

So, in honor of my momma~Seven Things She Did Right:

1. She was home when we got home from school. She was there with a snack and ready to listen. And believe me, between Jill and me, she had to listen. I'm not sure how much my little brother Del participated in our afternoon talks. It was probably hard for him to get a word in edgewise.

2. She loved my daddy. They were known to have a fuss or few, but they always loved each other. She respected him and let it be known we were to respect him also.

3. She taught us to love to read. She loved to read and we were frequent visitors at the library and the Book Nook. My mom, Jill, and I still share books with each other.

4. She made us mind. There was no wishy-washy at her house. If you didn't obey there was a discipline for that. And we knew she was always aware of what was going on with our friends at church and school. She knew and she would take action. (See embarrassing example here.)

5. She doesn't interfere, but she comes running when we call. She has been by my side for four very hard pregnancies and through numerous ER and doctor visits with me. I cannot tell you the number of times I have called her in a panic and she was here within the hour.

6. She loves my children. Passionately. She encourages me and gives me advice when I ask. Sometimes, she gives me advice when I don't ask, but that's okay. That's what moms do :)

7. She is my friend. Its a pretty neat thing when your mom turns into your friend. I can only hope that happens with my Abbie.
