I am so glad that each morning His mercies are new.   Because yesterday was a big ole yuck-fest at the Clark House yesterday.  I could try to sugar-coat it and wrap it all up and make it pretty in the end, but it didn't end well either.  I went to bed at 7:30 if that says anything.

Due to privacy concerns for my children I can't name names, but lets just say yesterday was hard in the relationship department.

Also, there was a whole lot of not normal stuff at my house going on.

Oreo, the kitten, had a blowout, but unfortunately no diaper was involved.  So Abbie and I had to give a 22 day old kitten a bath which was pretty funny to see.  The kitten didn't mind really, but he sure looked funny.

Sadie, the dog, brought a biddy chicken to the back door.  Dead.  A big no-no for dogs around here.  After I gave her a big spanking I realized she may not have been the one who killed it and she may have just been bringing it to us.  Felt like a heel.  She normally is so good to the chickens and takes care of them so we decided to give her one more chance.  We'll see.  I really hate to have all her training (and all the money we spent on her) wasted if we have to give her away.

I spent two hours at the pediatrician's office yesterday for one signature and a referral to another doctor.  Two hours.  For something that could have been done in five minutes.  Actually it was done in five minutes.  That's how long we spent with the doctor once he finally got there.

James got mad yesterday and told me he was running away from home.  I looked at him and said, and I quote, "Have at it brother."

I know, mothering at its finest.

After Mark got home and everyone had supper I told Mark it was just going to be best for everyone if I went on to bed.  I read for a little bit and was asleep by 8.  I slept all night, but this morning I have woken up with hives. Oh boy.  I think its that I'm allergic to the walking I am doing.  And the Pilates.  I thought all this exercise was supposed to be stress-relieving!  Just kidding Jill.  I'm not stopping.

So, here's to a better day.  Yesterday really wasn't that bad all things considered and like I said, its all new today.

*Disclaimer-I am whining some and know that my day was a dream compared to some.  I am very grateful that I get to experience all this with my family.  Really.

  1. Don't feel so bad, we all have those days. My kids have "threatened" to run away and I asked them which bridge they planned on living under... Mother of the year award, right there...

  2. Just so everyone knows, James had a wonderful time running away, and gave Wendy frequent updates as to his progress. He had so much fun i imagine he will run away again today.

  3. Tell James the only place he can go when he runs away is to Aunt Jill's house. I will keep him and love on him for a bit before I drive his little hiney home. :)

I hope you have a much better day!

  4. Life in the trenches - we're right there with you, sister. We all have bad days. Apologize where needed and try to move on. I thank God for his new mercies as well!
