Anke (who makes beautiful things), asked about the Taco Seasoning recipe. Super-easy to do and yummy to do!
20 tsp. chili powder
15 tsp. ground cumin
10 tsp. paprika
10 tsp. onion salt
10 tsp. oregano
5 tsp. garlic powder
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl with a whisk. You can store in a tupperware or ziploc bag. Use 3 tablespoons mix and 3/4 cup water to 1 pound of meat or beans.
Anke, in the picture on the other post I had doubled this recipe to make that much.

Looks like a good mix, I may try it.
ReplyDeleteOk, now I'm blushing...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the recipe, I'm going to get the ingredients on my next grocery run.
This recipe looks really good, but I have one question.....could I use onion powder instead of onion salt? I'm not real big on salt in general, but would it affect the taste too much?
ReplyDeleteYum! I make my own too, but normally just dump. :) This would be much easier in the long run.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Thrifty Thursday!
heavensdaughter-I really don't know. I just followed the recipe from the MOMYS cookbook and I have not tried any substitutions...
ReplyDeleteWe love homemade taco seasoning--thanks for sharing your recipe at Thrifty Thursday! It's a bigger batch than we normally make which would be nice to do since we use it so often.
ReplyDeleteIn response to heavensdaughter, we use onion powder or chopped dried onion and it tastes fine.
