If there is one thing homeschooling moms love its curriculum talk. And curriculum giveaways!
I love love love it when Jolanthe of Homeschool Creations has her giveaway days. Its a place where we can clear our shelves and then fill them back up again with free books. Who wouldn't love that?
My first giveaway is The Rose Book of Bible Charts, Maps, and Time Lines. This is a great resource for all ages and for anyone who teaches anything-school, Sunday School, Bible Studies.
I ended up with two of these and this one is in excellent condition.
It contains 114 pages of full-color charts, 22 pages of time lines, 19 pages of maps, and 25 pages of illustrations. You are allowed to reproduce up to 300 copies for church use.
I will draw a name on Saturday, August 4 around noon and contact the winner. US only.

My favorite subject to teach is science. Particularly nature study. I am learning so much about God's creation right along with my children.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject to teach so far this year has been science; specifically Apologia Zoo 1 for elementary students. I was never a science person in school, so this came as a pretty big surprise!

So far my favorite subject to teach has been geography, because it has sparked the most interest in my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently homeschooling a preschooler so we really cover the basics. But I have to say that I love bible time with her and reading in general. She is doing book reports for the stories we read (she narrates and I write) and it is AMAZING to see her development over the course of just 6 months.

ReplyDeleteWell, we're starting first grade this year. So after one year of Kindergarten my favorite subject to teach right now is English, especially reading. Seeing my son learn how to read was wonderful! A whole new world opened up to him and it's awesome to see him growing and learning something new every day just by reading.

ReplyDeleteWe are very new to homeschooling, but it seems like the girls like the unit study approach rather than individual subjects. Once they get on a topic they love, it's hard to move onto the next thing!

Favorite subject to teach... We're only doing kindergarten this year but I think my favorite thing to teach is "extra". Photography. Subject wise though is foreign language. We do Spanish in bits through the day.

ReplyDeleteI was a Middle School Math and Algebra 1 teacher ( I LOVE Algebra) but this will be my first year homeschooling my 4 yr old High functioning Autistic son. HE would ABSOLUTELY LOVE this book, he loves maps and encyclopedias and memorizes information like nothing I've ever seen. THank you for the opportunity!

Nature/science. We don't really divide our learning into subjects but if I had to it would be those! Thank you! This looks like a great system and we are looking at adding even more Bible lessons into our studies this year.
ReplyDeleteI love teaching about nature and science, but I'd have to say my favorite subject to teach my son is math - this is such a surprise to me! But he takes to it so naturally and it is fun to come up with activities to help him understand different concepts. He is always excited to do math. :) So not like his mother.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like it would go along well with our mystery of history plans this year. I thought I would say math was my favorite to teach since it was always my favorite in school. This will be our first year so I don't know for sure.. but I am super excited about science and history this year :-)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject this year is history we are studying ancient history so the kids are getting to see the Bible figures in cinjuction with other ancient figures. I think it helps solidify in their minds that the Bible isn't seperate from history and isn't stories.
