The Sweetest Books Ever...and a Giveaway....

Today has been a little sad at my house.  For me anyway.

Do you know how hard it is for a person who LOVES books to part with them?

I have been purging and rearranging and realized that James is not reading many of the books he used to love.  He says they are too babyish.  Sniff, sniff.  So to make room for the new books he is acquiring and just because it is simply wasteful to have these books on the shelves not being read I am going through and deciding which ones can be given away.  They all have memories for me so it has been a little hard. There are many I am keeping just because and many I am keeping because I fully intend on reading them to my grandchildren one day.  When we moved into this house there were books that Mark and his sister used to read still on the shelves and I so want that when the grandchildren come around-many many many years later :)!

So, to make the separation a little less painful for this momma I am having a little giveaway here today.  I have four Rod and Staff Jewel books that are delightful to say the least.  These are the sweetest children's books and the pictures are beautiful.  If anything enter to win just so you can see the pictures.  Boys and girls will both enjoy these books.

They include:  Building With Daddy, A Boy to Help, My Book About Jesus, and The Playhouse.  The Playhouse has a few colored pictures my daughter colored, but they actually look pretty good. and My Book About Jesus has my son's name written in pen in the front.  Other than that they are in very good shape.

All you have to do to enter is tell me a favorite book you love to read to your children or a favorite book of yours.  Giveaway will end Thursday, Jan 31, 2103 at 5:00.  Abbie will draw a winner and I'll get it mailed out to you.

  1. Awe, that is so sweet of you MamaHen! Those look like precious books! Right now, my great-nieces books to 'read' when they are here are: Five Little Monkeys,Jumping on the Bed, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See? They carry them around everywhere! Thanks for the giveaway! Blessings from Bama!

  2. I think some of our all time favorites have been Mr Brown Can Moo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

I love books too! They are hard to let go of.

  3. Don't put my name in for the drawing as my little ones are grown up :)

The little golden book "Baby Dear" by Ester Wilkin & illustrated by Eloise Wilkin is still my 18 year old daughter's favorite book ever. Maybe because in it the little girl has red hair like hers or maybe just because it's a very sweet story :).
