Friday

Today was a good day at home. We had school this morning and things went pretty well. I think James is getting used to the school thing and he did not interrupt so much today. When I am working with one child another has "James Duty" and they play with him and get juice, etc...

Abbie does "preschool" with him and reads him books and does puzzles with him.

The weather was wonderful here today so after lunch I took James out to play. The other kids were playing tag and he chased them around too. He is so funny to watch because he has no idea what was going on, but he just wants to be a big kid like them. The kids picked pears so when I get through with this I am going to peel and cut them up and start pear preserves. I'll cover them in sugar and let them sit tonight. In the morning I'll boil them until they are soft and then process them. So delicious with biscuits!

After I put James down we worked on math and then I cut up tomatoes. I only got three quarts. The bushes are slowing down on producing and all the rain we got earlier in the week knocked some of them down. It's funny, in the spring I can't wait to get the garden planted and by September I can't wait to cut it all down!

Abbie is getting in on the blog lingo. She said "Mom, take a picture of me and post it on your blog." While I was taking the picture James had to get in on the action.
