As Far As I Know Atlanta Is Still Standing

Yesterday my bestest friend Rebekah and I took our girls (and her 5 week old new baby) to Atlanta to the American Girl Store. Abbie and I have never been and she was beyond excited. She has been saving her money and doing extra chores and work to earn even more. And she has really worked hard too. This was a great learning opportunity for her because she isn't lazy, but she would much rather tell everyone how to do the work rather than do it herself. (And I just don't know where she gets that from.) She had a goal in mind and she worked for it. I was proud of her.

The little girls sat in the way back of Rebekah's 15 passenger van and talked and laughed and Rebekah and I sat in the front and talked and laughed. Considering we had 4 girls and a very tiny nursing baby the day went extremely well. We only had one incident where Abbie left her purse (with all her hard-earned money) in the bathroom. We had eaten lunch before she realized it was gone and by the time we made it back in to the bathroom the purse was gone. So, while Rebekah nursed the baby Abbie and I searched the unfamiliar mall for a lost & found or mall security. After asking three different salespeople where guest services or mall security was located (who were absolutely no help at all) we found it. And lo and behold some kind person had turned in her purse and her money was still in it. Thank you God!

We all had a good time, but since Rebekah and I were together we did have a weather event. And although Rebekah is much better at directions than me we did get turned around once, and once you are turned around in Atlanta you are going to be turned around for at least an hour we were much later getting home than planned.

Rebekah, did Delores have a breakdown by the time you made it home, or did she just give it up?

  3. I'm glad my girls had a good time yesterday. The guys and I had a good time too. Abbie's doll looked great last night and she looked cute as a button too. I wish we knew who that angel was that found her purse.

  4. Oh - so glad Abbie's purse was returned. My heart dropped. Doubt that would have happened at the American Girl in NYC (the only one I've ever been to...well, by!) Yeah sweet Southerners!!

  6. Mama, I wish I could have told them thank you. A little girls heart would have been broken yesterday if not for them.

THANK YOU for keeping the boys for so long yesterday!

  9. So much fun!!! I remember American Girl dolls from when I was Abbie's age, I never had one but one of my friends had 3 and shared them with me. There was no store back then though. I would love to take Chloe there sometime ( there's one in L.A.)! So glad Abbie's purse wasn't stolen! Whew!
