Thursday

Well, today I managed to make it through my husband's office with all my clothes in the right place. Yeah for me!

We went to Bible Study and then a few of my friends and I (along with a billion kids between us) went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Hey, guess what? Chick-Fil-A ain't cheap and do know how much food it takes to fill up my two boys? A lot. We won't be doing that again anytime soon.

Anyways, James headed immediately for the play area. I sent Tyler in to watch him while I ordered the food. I got the food, gave them my right hand to pay for it, and set out to put all the kid's food on the tables for them. Tyler comes over and tells me that James has taken his diaper off. I was like, "What?!!!" I went to see what was going on and yes, he had. Somehow he had managed to take his diaper off without taking his shorts off. I guess he slipped it through the short's leg. He had just thrown it down and Tyler had just left it sitting there on the floor of the play area. Of course there were two very young preppy-looking moms there with sweet little precious babies and I can't even imagine what they were thinking. But, their time will come.

At least I didn't have to crawl up in the play tube when I was eight months pregnant and retrieve him. I got to do that with Tyler and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty.

  5. Remember when Matt climbed to the top of the Chick-Fil-A thingy when he was little and poo-pood on the whole thing?

  6. Yes, thanks Jill for bringing that up. That was one of my top 10 most embarrassing mommy moments!

  7. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat at a Chick fil a now...never have, but if I see one, I will now think of poo. Thank you for that Mama Hen!

  8. I HATE those play areas. I usually forbid anyone to go in them but the last time we went to Chik-Fil-A (ironically) I gave in. Holdyn is really too big but I gave in. Then one of those preppy Mom's cute babies bit him on the back! Thankfully he's a sweet enough boy that he just walked out, told me, and said he wasn't playing in there anymore. Again, I hate those things!

  9. Ahhhh preppy moms. I hope I'm never confused for one. I'm sure I will never be.
I've definitely had that happen a time or two. Nothing quite like having a bare bottom come running up to greet you.

  10. How funny! We only go to Chick-filA when we are equiped with coupons. So I feel your pain. By the way my Abby is so excited everytime she sees your Abbie at Bible study. Apparently your Abbie made a lasting impression on mine at Hannah's birthday party. Just know she has a friend for life now.

  11. I was just thinking about when you had to crawl up in the tube for Tyler! I can remember a few other interesting situations in the playplaces, too!

  12. Wendy, I LOVE you! You are SO real, and you make me laugh. I especially liked the line "but their time is coming..." I feel like that a LOT. Thanks for sharing both the good and the not so good!

  13. Oh funny! And Yuck! I knew that there was a reason that playplaces grossed me out!! ;)

    Seriously though, that's great!

I had to climb up the very very narrow playplace in Hoover the other day to retrieve Ali... it wasn't easy.

  14. LOL! Yes, you post the funniest stories about your kids. I can just see it in my mind.

And, yes, we just went to Chick-Fil-A two weeks ago with a handful of summer reading program coupons. The previous time it was $17 but this time it was $19 and change. I had grabbed a $20 out of my wallet and left it in the car and I was glad it hadn't been over $20 for 3 meals and 3 free ones--one of which my 4 year old and 1 year old shared!

  16. That's so funny! Chick-fil-a is expensive, so I always buy a couple of their coupon calendars every year, they're only $5 and they have great coupons for every month of the year.
