Caught!

This post is compliments of a certain Hixon child. It was she who introduced me the delicacy in question. We are oh so sophisicated around here and one of my favorite "treats" is Wal-Mart's Indulgent Trail Mix. I've pretty much gotten Mark hooked on it too. It is the perfect mix of sweet and salty. I caught James this morning going for the "sweet."

He was pulling out all the butterscotch morsels. And he was serious about it too.

After I told him it was time to put it away he looked all confused. He said he wanted to pull out all the "white ones" next. I quickly put them away.

There was no way he was getting my white chocolate morsels. I know, mean mom. But they are white chocolate morsels, surely you understand?

  1. That trail mix sounds yummy, and yes I understand, the chocolate is the best part!

  2. Oh indeed, a mom has to be able to pull rank once in awhile...and save the best morsels for herself:) I LOVE trail mix - I don't often go to Walmart but I might just be willing to go for delicious trail mix!

Hope you can stop by on Friday for my chat with friends - we are recapping the highlights from our summer! Hard to believe, it is almost over:)

  4. I can't even walk down the aisle with that stuff anymore. It's just too tempting.

  5. My parents used to make GORP all the time when I was little.

("Good Ole' Raisins and Peanuts", although the actual ingredients were raisins, peanuts, and M&M's.)

We used to try to pick the M&M's out (of course), but there was a strict GORP policy in our house: You must eat it with the proportions from which it was served - no picking out the favorites!

  7. That stuff is the best! I was just thinking this morning that I wish we had all the ingredients. But I don't think it would go so well with this sugar fast. :0(

And I personally think James has the right idea. ;0)

  8. Yum-0! I make my own trail mix and never thought of butterscotch or white chocolate. Thanks for the inspiration and the laugh.

  9. I do understand. If it's chocolate it must be protected.

That's an adorable face though. You've gotta be strong. :) Lisa~

  11. Trail mix is the death of me. I have to be honest and say I often pick out the peanut butter chips. I can't get enough of them ;)

  12. Is he picking out each item and sorting them prior to eating them?

  13. Mollie, no-he was just picking out the butterscotch chips and eating them. Next he was going to move on to my white chips.

  14. In our house it is the chocolate chips which always disappear! ;)
